Arlene Zuckernick
Arlene Zuckernick has been a Principal of Newport Bay (NBCS) since 1986 working in the area of distributed learning and innovative training. She has consulted provincially, across Canada and internationally, providing expertise to more than 50 public and private sector clients in planning, program design and implementation, as well as evaluation and monitoring. Arlene thoroughly enjoys the challenge of working as a program designer, applying a wide variety of learner-focused technologies.
She served as a founding Member and then President of the Canadian Association for Distance Education (1986‑87), providing leadership in the exchange of information, professional concerns and research in the field . Arlene has been a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Distance Education since 1992.
Arlene holds a Masters of Arts from the University of Toronto in Educational Communications.
Linda Schachter
As a Principal in Newport Bay Consulting Services, Linda is a distributed learning and research consultant specializing in instructional design and development, innovative training systems development, program review and evaluation, gender and equity issues, diversity and human rights training. She has researched and written a wide variety of courses, manuals, and research, evaluation and policy papers for clients ranging from international agencies to universities to federal, provincial and local governments, as well as NGOs.
Linda, who has a B.A. from the University of Washington and completed her coursework towards a Masters in Sociology at Carleton University, has directed many research and evaluation studies on gender equity particularly in relation to access of women to education, training and new technologies.
Linda enjoys working as part of a team. She has travelled extensively in Central and South America.
